“WELLSVILLE — Two people accused of robbing the Wellsville McDonald’s restaurant have been apprehended after evading capture earlier this month.
Ryan W. Schrader, 32, of Wellsville, was charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree grand larceny, third-degree burglary and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, state police reported Wednesday. Rebecca L. Baker, 32, of Wellsville, was charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny.
On Aug. 11, the suspects allegedly entered through the back door of McDonald’s, one of them brandishing what appeared to be a pistol and demanding employees open the safe. They were unable to do so without having the combination, so the suspects allegedly took all the money they could — approximately $357 — and fled in a vehicle.
Further investigation allegedly showed the two were also responsible for a burglary at the Just One More bar in Shongo and the grand larceny of cash from Short’s Gas Station in Stannards. Schrader was also found in possession of a small amount of crack cocaine upon arrest, police allege.
In addition to the above allegations, both were charged by Wellsville Village Police with two counts of third-degree burglary, third-degree attempted burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny and petit larceny. According to police reports, those charges stem from multiple break-ins at a North Main Street establishment in Wellsville.
Schrader and Baker were arraigned in Wellsville Village Court. Schrader was remanded to Allegany County Jail in lieu of $50,000, while Baker was remanded in lieu of $20,000.”
