200th Post!: Terrible Mugging Attempt at McDonald’s Leads to Arrest at Elementary School

Anne Arundel County police arrested a man and a woman Saturday night in connection to a failed robbery attempt in Brooklyn Park.

Police said a man was sitting in his car at the McDonald’s restaurant at Ritchie Highway and 11th Avenue at 11:09 p.m. when he was approached by a man and a woman.

As he attempted to get out of his car, the man punched him in the face and demanded money, police said.

When victim fell back into his car, both the man and the woman continued to assault him.

The victim was able to put his car in gear, causing it to move forward with him and the suspects still inside, police said. The vehicle came to a rest in front of Park Elementary School, where the suspects got out and fled down 1st Street.

Officers saturated the area and found the suspects walking in an alley between 1st Street and Victory Avenue, police said.

The victim positively identified them as the pair who accosted him.

Leonard Alfred Williams II, 25, of Victory Avenue in Brooklyn Park, and Natassia Marie Williams, 28, of Rogers Avenue in Glen Burnie, were charged with attempted robbery and second-degree assault, police said. Natassia Williams also was charged with possession of marijuana.

The victim sustained superficial injuries and was transported to Medstar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, where he was treated and released.
