McDonalds contacted police Oct. 25 after an intoxicated man drove around the building through the drive-thru more than once and tried picking up food he hadn’t completed ordering.
Officers responded and after subsequent investigation, a 25-year-old Saline man was arrested for drunken driving, according to the police report.
McDonalds employees directed the driver to pull into a parking space after one attempt to get food at the drive-thru window at 8 p.m. Oct. 13.
Police made contact with the driver, who admitted he’d been drinking but wouldn’t say how much he’d had, according to the report. He attempted to do some sobriety tests, but after two occasions it appeared he might fall and officers had to brace him up, the tests were stopped due to safety concerns.
He took a chemical test at the Police Department, showing blood-alcohol content results of 0.21 and 0.23 percent, above the 0.17 threshold for Michigan’s “super drunk” law.
