Man Held on $250,000 Bond for Attempted Murder at McDonald’s

AKRON, Ohio – The Summit County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man they believe hit two people, including one of their own deputies, in a McDonald’s parking lot near the University of Akron last month.

Artemus D. Blanding, 23, of Bedford Heights, has been charged with one count of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault and one count of aggravated vehicular assault.

Deputies said witnesses identified Blanding as the driver who struck the University of Akron student and Summit County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Rimedio early April 13 and fled.

Blanding is in Summit County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
