TWO women have been arrested at a McDonald’s branch – after a ‘disturbance’ over a seat at the restaurant. Staffordshire Police made the arrests after being called to the chain’s Hanley store on Saturday.
A 57-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, was attacked and had to be checked by a paramedic but did not need treatment.
Officers have now taken statements from seven witnesses and seized CCTV footage.
A police spokesman said: “Two females, aged 22 and 28, have been arrested on suspicion of common assault and are in custody for a disturbance in McDonald’s over a seat, which resulted in an assault.
“The victim has praised McDonald’s staff for assisting until police arrived.”
