LAKEHURST — A 45-year-old man had heroin in his car when was found asleep in the parking lot of a Lakehurst fast food restaurant, police said.
William L. Brooks of Lakehurst was arrested and charged with being under the influence of heroin and possession of heroin when officers arrived at the McDonald’s on Route 70 just after 9 p.m. Saturday, police said in a release.
Brooks was slumped over the steering wheel and had his foot on the brake when he was asked to exit the vehicle. Police declined to say how much heroin was in the car. Brooks was taken to the Ocean County jail, where he was held on $10,000 bail.
