A 21-year-old Barnegat man is facing a number of charges after police observed him shooting heroin in the bathroom of the McDonalds on Route 9.
Members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested David Schubiger Jr., on Nov. 21 on drug charges after a surveillance operation.
Officers were in the area of the McDonalds on Route 9 conducting surveillance when they observed Schubiger acting suspiciously. Further investigation revealed that Schubiger was injecting heroin while in the restaurant’s bathroom, Lt. Keith Germain said.
Schubiger was arrested after officers recovered a hypodermic syringe and heroin, he said.
Schubiger was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and obstructing the administration of law. He was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $15,000 bail.
