Failed Robbery Attempt at McDonald’s Gets Criminal Terrorism Charge, Among Others

Mark C. Stover, 50, is accused of pointing a knife toward the throat of the victim inside the McDonald’s at 1115 Sassafras St. at about 5:15 p.m. Police said Stover threatened to cut the victim’s throat and to kill the victim, according to a criminal complaint.

The victim knocked the knife away and was not injured. Stover was taken into custody at the restaurant.

Stover, who is listed as homeless, was arraigned by Erie 4th Ward District Judge Tom Robie on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possessing an instrument of crime, simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness. He remained in the Erie County Prison on $50,000 bond Monday.
