AMHERST, Ohio – Police have arrested a man who they say robbed two people as they were using the restroom at McDonald’s.
The man, 41-year-old Pablo Sotto of Lorain, has been charged with aggravated robbery, felonious assault and theft.
Police said he attacked the victims from behind as they used the restroom at the Leavitt Road McDonald’s in Amherst on Nov. 26 and 28. Once he knocked them down, police said, he stole their wallets.
Police sent the information out to area police agencies, and on Dec. 4, a Lorain police officer spotted him, wearing the same clothing as the suspect in the robberies.
Soto was on parole for prior aggravated robberies, and told police that he committed the robberies to feed a heroin addiction.
He’ll be in Oberlin Municipal Court Dec. 5 to be arraigned.
